5 Ways to Keep Your Kit Cleaner at the Gym
Your gym bag works hard. It carries damp towels, used kit and training shoes — then gets zipped shut in a warm car. Without a few simple habits, it doesn't take long before the whole thing smells like a locker room.
Here are five easy ways to keep your kit fresher for longer.
Keep your bag off the floor. Gym floors collect shoe traffic, sweat and chalk dust all day. If your bag mounts to a rack, locker or rig instead, it stays clear of all of it.
Separate wet from dry. Pack used towels and sweaty kit in their own compartment or a dry bag so moisture never reaches your clean clothes.
Air it out after every session. Don't zip the bag shut while anything inside is damp — open it up when you get home and let it breathe.
Wipe it down weekly. A quick wipe of the exterior and interior keeps grime from building into stains and odours. Wash it properly when the care label allows.
Use a mount, not the floor. Hanging your bag keeps it out of puddles, off dirty surfaces and in your sight-line — which also means you're far less likely to forget it.
This is the thinking behind the Pike Vault Magnetic Fitness Bag: strong built-in magnets that stick it to squat racks, lockers and rig posts, so your kit stays clean, dry and exactly where you can see it.
